What is the difference between HTTPS and a complete TLS assessment?
TLS protects data in transit when certificate validation and protocol negotiation succeed. This check records the connection it actually makes. It does not infer that every alternate protocol or cipher has been tested.
What the engine observes
- Trusted certificate validation for the requested hostname
- Negotiated TLS protocol and observed certificate expiry
- HTTP-to-HTTPS redirect behavior
Legacy cipher enumeration and exhaustive protocol testing are outside the free passive check.
What happens after a check?
Read the observations and their evidence first. Save the private report if useful. To go deeper, verify domain control and agree a precise scope, testing window and resource limits. High-impact candidates remain candidates until appropriate validation is complete.
